Coffee and Cake...

Danny and I stole 30 minutes one afternoon to go have a much needed coffee and cake. This is from one of our local places. It was flour-less orange and almond cake served with cream and berries. It was yum. But more than that, I loved how it was served, cut in half as they knew we where sharing 1 slice,
served on 2 pretty plates! It really is all the details, that makes you want to come back again.

Our Garden at the moment...

We have re-done the garden next to the front door about 3 times now, as our style changes. This time we have gone for 3 lemon trees with some white flowers in front of them. It a simple look but really pretty and I love looking at it when I arrive home. We have actually already gotten some lemons of the small tress too.

At the side fence we years ago we planted the variegated bougainvillea, it was very slow to grow, so on a few of the bare patches we planted a couple of new ones to add a bit more colour.

An awesome kids Birthday cake!

My lovely Lisa made the Birthday Cake herself! She has become so adventurous with her cooking and I think her cakes taste and look so professional!
You can see her entire party here:

Up in the air, Blue Sky!

We went to the Rocklea markets a few weekends ago to buy a few plants for the courtyard. The weather was divine, the kids begged for a Ferris wheel ride. They loved it and stayed on it for ages. The man puts a stuffed toy in the empty seat next to the kids, how cute! We ate an awesome breakfast, we shared some maple syrup pancakes and some curry puffs, that was a real treat for breakfast.

This saved us $270!

We got a quote to get our house cleaned, we normally get it washed about 4 years. For the 1st time we also asked for a quote to get the roofed cleaned as that is about all you can see from the street and the pale colourbond was looking a bit worse for wear. The house quote price was great and we went ahead with that, they did a fantastic job, reaching up into areas we could never have done and the paint now looks shiny and new. But the roof quote was so 'spensive!. It was $270 , just for the visible parts of the roof.

So after much discussion, weighing up possible falling of roof injuries against saving $270, Danny got up there with his roofers shoes on ( Dunlop Volleys) and scrubbed the roof with sugar soap and a soft broom, in the rain and then hosed it all down. It took under 2 hours and came up a treat. The roof looks brand new again. Thanks Danny, you did a beautiful job!

1970's Vintage Treasures

Look at this 1970's fabulous-ness ! I found all these unused, unopened cards, sealed in plastic, from the 1970 in a news agency stand from a shop that has now closed and had donated the entire stand to a not-for-profit shop. I got so excited when I saw them, I bought up big time as they where too awesome to go to waste! I am now selling them on ETSY and within hours someone from America had purchased 3 of them. Just click on the link up on the right to go to ETSY for you want some of the action.

I love the greetings inside the card!

A shabby chic one, it would even look nice framed.

I have lots more of them on ETSY!

Have a lovely weeekend

Just hanging at IKEA, as you do.

We love visiting IKEA, our 1st stop is always the cafe for a cheap snack. Now that Evie is 3, both kids can go into Smalland together and have 1 hour of fun whilst we do the entire top floor. Then we pick up the kids, look at the ground floor, an absolute necessity is the AS IS section at the end
and then get a ice cream cone to finish the trip..

A bit more Christmas fun...

We had Christmas breakfast at our house this year with my family. We had a great time! For a change to the usual I stuck with the pinks, white and yellows to match the Christmas tree. It looks lovely and fresh!

Decorating your own Cookies was a hit!

My "Tropical Trifle" was good!

A Lovely Lunch

Fruit  FrappĂ©

My sister Catherine, put on one of the most delicious lunches for one of our friends who we only get to see on rare occasions
(Hi Kelly!).

I loved at as it was so healthy and fresh, I ate about 3 times
the amount of salad that I would normally eat
as it was so crunchy and yummy.

The courtyard at the moment...

I call them "rain flowers" as they flower after heavy rain but I have also heard them called "storm flowers", either, or, both names correctly describe them!

I just love them and they look so pretty in the
courtyard at the moment.

Just like I always have, Evie loves picking flowers.
