A Park Party for an 8 year old boy...

Finally, a chance to post the pics from our son's party in the park from several months ago. It was a great afternoon with all things park-ish!
Made from a meringue, a wafer stick, stuck together with chocolate and dusted with cocoa.

Honey crackles made by Mum! I made the little bee flags us of tape and just painted the bees on.

My sister brought along these balloons and handed one to each child at the end.

Cupcakes made by Mum too, after I had a cupcake recipe crisis the morning of the party. I then iced them added green coconut and a liitle sport decoration bought from Coles.

Chocolate cake, toped with green icing and coconut and sports chocs stich into plastic coated wire from Bunnings.

Milk arrowroots, topped with icing to look like footballs.

One of the most popular items was the healthy options of the veggie platter and small apples.
Also the frogs in a pond were at hit with the kids.

Sporty games run by Hubby. He did a great job!

More Tropical Party for a little girl pics...

We held Evie's 5th birthday party out on the lawn, it was a lovely party for just the family. I think we all had a lovely time, it was fairly easy to organise and Evie loved it. I chose the tropical theme as Evie and I love all things pineapple and coconut, it's also an easy to do theme.

Thank you so much to my lovely family for all their thoughtful and gorgeous gifts that Evie absolutely loves.

Very quickly home made invites, hand delivered to the family.

I grabbed a few fruit boxes from the local IGA to use as props.

A vintage tutu from when my sister was a child

I looked around for a pineapple piñata and could not find one, so the kids and I made this one for a total cost of $3.
Tropical ice cream cake made by me.

The ice cream flavours rom the top: coconut and lime, passionfruit sorbet, macadamia and on the base mango!

Yummy left over snacks the next day is always a treat!

I will do a post soon on how we made the piñata.

A tropical party and Tahitian Limes...

We celebrated Evie's 5th birthday with a small party with our family. The theme was "tropical". I set up the TV room coffee table with a few lollies for when we watched a the photos of our recent trip to Cairns. I scored this awesome box from the local supermarket, who leave the boxes out the front for customers to take. The lollies included mini limes, bananas and other tropical fruit. More photos of the main party to come!

Hamptons Home Living...

I visited the Hamptons Home Living store at Paddington for morning tea to celebrate a friends birthday. We chilled out on the back deck over looking lovely views. I loved the styling of the shop!

Beautiful white sand and blue green ocean at the beach...

We loved our quick visit to the Gold Coast, near or at Currumbin for a paddle in the icy cold waer

Happy Birthday to our little girl!

Our little girl has turned five.
We had a lovely few days of celebrations. Here she is on her birthday morning testing out all her gifts: a mirror, lip gloss, nail polish, ballerina costume, necklace and clip on earrings.
Yes, she is a girl for sure.

The tropical plants around Cairns...

We had so much fun admiring all the amazing plants on during our trip to Cairns. Everything was just so lush and tropical (being tropical plants and all).
Lipstick palms

Giant Fig tree roots
