DIY Tropical party PINEAPPLE PINATA!

I decided to make my own Pinata as I could not find any pineapple pinata's anywhere.
This cost me a total of under $4 to make!

It was a fun activity to do with the kids, done in small lots over a week to allow for drying time.

Blow up a good pineapple shaped balloon and secure to a heavy mug with tape. Tear up paper, dip it into the glue and cover the entire balloon with 1 layer of the paper.

I looked up several recipes for the glue, some involved complicated cooking. In the end all I did was mix some pva glue that I already had with water, about 50:50.

After that 1st layer dried, the following day we repeated this step to a total of 3 layers. If I ever make this again, I would only do 2 layers as it turned out a bit to hard to smash open as quickly as the kids would have liked.

When the 3 layers were dry, I added the yellow streamers. This was the part that cost just under $4. I cut into the rolled up crepe streamer to make it like a ruffle. Then we just used the same glue mix to glue it on, this time in the opposite direction of the white paper to create a pineapple-ish effect.

Once this was very dry, we cut it of the cup, which left a perfect size opening to add the tropical themed lollies.

Then we added the string and green cardboard leaves cut with serrated scissors. Then hit away.

The pineapple pinata was an absolute hit! (Corny pun intended). Lou xo
