Our enchanting weekend at Mt Tamborine...

First stop was a picnic at Canungra Winery.

Looking at the family of turtles.

Then we did the surprisingly easy drive from Canungra to Mt Tamborine,
to check into our beautiful cottage for the weekend.

The host cooked a very lovely coffee and hazelnut cake for the birthday boy.

A bush walk to the falls.

We all had so much fun hanging out with the farms three Alpacas.

The black one with lovely big eyes and long black eyelashes was called Jamie Packer. Evie fell in love with Jamie and even cried in the car on the way home, 'I miss Jamie'.

The host taught us that if you at the fence with your back to the Alpacas,
they will come over and gently sniff you.
This is how you say hello to them.

The beautiful Guineafowl gave us hours of entertainment. Their polka dot feathers are beautiful.
This colour is called Lavender and the other shade was called Pearl.

The outdoor fire place all set up for us was a hit.
We toasted marshmallows and burnt things!

As far as farm cottages go, this was so comfortable and stylish.

Bye bye Jamie.

The amazing view from the farm.

A quick stop before the drive home.

Happy Birthday to our little girl!

Our little girl has turned five.
We had a lovely few days of celebrations. Here she is on her birthday morning testing out all her gifts: a mirror, lip gloss, nail polish, ballerina costume, necklace and clip on earrings.
Yes, she is a girl for sure.

Let her eat cake (icing only)

Cheeky Evie attended a little friends birthday party.
When she got her slice of birthday cake, she peeled off the layer of very thick fondant icing, put the entire strip in her mouth, chewed it and swallowed it.
I watched in stunned horror and saying "spit it out" and "at least eat some cake to mix in with it".
Then to make matters worse she did not eat crumb of actual cake!

She must have just decided what she was about to do!

Miss E button craft idea...

Whenever an item of Evie's baby clothing became outgrown and too stained to pass on, I would cut the pretty buttons off the fabric before recycling the fabric for rags. By the time Evie was ready for her big girl room, I decided to do something with all these buttons.

I purchased a white cushion cover that had thin green stitched stripes on it. I then traced on a large 'E', PVA glued the buttons on to work out the colours and sizes, then stitched them in place. I gave this to Evie on her 3rd Birthday as a final touch to her new room.

Whenever I look at it, I can remember the outfits the buttons came from and it's a great way to save those precious baby memories.

My sewing is not the best in the world!

A lovely boys vintage picnic party...

We went to an absolutely beautiful 1st birthday and naming ceremony at
an historical house in Brisbane.
The theme was a vintage Teddy bears picnic. The food and atmosphere was divine!

The evolution our green entry table...

This is my most loved item of furniture that I own. My sister and I found it one day in about 2005, on the footpath, waiting to be thrown out. It did not look like this, it was covered in contact. But we could see the gorgeous green legs and knew it would be amazing. I sanded and varnished the top and just lightly sanded the green paint, then waxed it and put on new emerald green glass handles that I found for $5.00 each on sale at a little gift shop in Noosa, what luck!

Here have a look at how this table has evolved with us over the years.

I don't think I would ever part with it.
